Missional Discipleship
1-Discipling the least of These - Jeff Vanderstelt
So much of our understanding of and approach to discipleship is based upon the assumption that people are literate, well resourced and accustomed to being developed in a classroom setting. Jesus came to call and train people who were not the educated elite, religiously upright or socially astute…the least of these…and most of his training was along the way in everyday life. What would it look like to structure our lives and churches in such a way that the everyday people were part of your discipleship strategy and fruit? 3- A Case Study of the New Beginning of Granger Community Church -Mark Beeson, Tim Stevens & Rob Wegner
The local church is on the verge of a massive, category shifting change. For 1700 years, the primary identity of the local church in the West has been "church as institution." Over the last 50 years, the church growth movement has brought much needed reformation within this expression. Although God continues to transform many lives through these prevailing models, it has not stemmed the decline of Western Christianity. We can't settle for winning a battle via contemporary church and multi-site, while losing the larger war. Simply producing more of the same will not be enough.
Our times require a different expression of the local church - church as apostolic movement, where every person is living a mission-sent life, where every person is a reproducing Christian, and every church a reproducing church.
In this work, Mark Beeson, Tim Stevens, and Rob Wegner will share the story of Granger Community Church as they are making the leap to church as movement. Granger is seeking to keep the best of what church growth has taught us, while simultaneously leveraging megachurch and multi-site as a launch pad for missional movements of their people.
4- Transitioning to a missional culture that actually makes disciples! -Greg Nettle & Alex Absalom

Missional Paradigm Shifts
1-From Mega to Missional- Rob Wegner with Jack Magruder
“Missional.” For the past decade, the buzzword has been used to describe all things church—missional leadership, missional small groups, missional approach, missional communities. The concept has been written about, studied, argued over, questioned and celebrated. For the past 10 years, Granger Community Church in Granger, Ind., has explored, wrestled with and ultimately embraced what it means to be missional. We look at the potential and the tensions of moving from Megachurch and Missional. How is it that megachurch and multi-site can become a launch pad for a missional movement of God's people into every domain of society and every unreached pocket of people in a community?

4-Beyond MY Church -Jason Dukes
Have you ever prayed for revival, awakening, God’s work to happen in the community where you live? Your heart probably even aches for it. But does your heart ache for what Jesus’ heart ached for in the Garden the night before He died – for His followers to be one with the Father and thus be maturing in oneness as they love and serve the world together. No more thinking and living like it’s “MY church.” No more thinking and living in silos around town with no regard for the interests of other local church expressions in the community. Jesus prayed for our UNITY that the world might believe in the One who was sent. Let’s live as answers to His prayer. May we think and live beyond MY church.

Thousands of churches will close their doors this year in America. Many churches will not close, but they aren’t making a difference. The guiding question of Externally Focused Churches is "If my church vanished, would my community care?" Unfortunately, for most churches the answer is "No." Oh sure, the people who attend those churches would care. But the city leaders wouldn't care. The schools wouldn't care. The business leaders and the community's non-profit agencies wouldn't care. The public and the down-and-out wouldn't care. The least and the lost wouldn't care. Learn what went wrong and what it will take to be a church that the community cares about.

The coach develops the system and then practices it daily with the hopes that it’ll lead to victory. Whether it’s discipleship, volunteer connections, leadership development or any other aspect of ministry, the systems and strategies we develop will ultimately determine the church we become and the life change it produces.
3-Unlocking Your Motivational View of the World-Will Mancini

What if you could name in a simple and compelling way, your totally unique contribution to the world? That's what your motivational view of the world is all about. But how do you rethink your basic recipe of ministry? How do begin to discover stunningly new possibilities for your church? 3-Culture: Five Stages of Cultural Formation- Dave Saathoff
Clear vision and good strategy are tools by which a spiritual community can serve the spiritual and social needs of a hurting world. But vision and strategy without intentional cultural development runs the risk of hollow success and a poisoned environment. Culture is environment – it guides the behaviors and beliefs of those executing strategy and vision. Yet culture cannot be microwaved. It must simmer over time. In fact, cultural development naturally progresses through FIVE STAGES. When leaders understand these stages, they can avoid unnecessary pitfalls. If you want the right stuff, you must create the right environment.

Nuts & Bolts- Communication
1-Less Clutter. Less Noise - Communication beyond bulletins, brochures & bake sales - Kem Meyer
Every organization, especially the church, has to get over themselves and realize effective communications is really about “releasing the right response” not “sending the right message.” People are not looking for more information—they are looking for ways to survive too much information. Pastors, creative professionals, ministry leaders or volunteers part of the church should help people find those answers. Instead they end up adding to the confusion. Smart communication systems that help people connect with Christ and each other don’t have to be complicated.
2-Communicating Vision Visually-Jim Randall
Churches pump out communications all day long and miss the opportunity to constantly reflect and reinforce the vision. Yes, your church needs to brand—it’s not a four-letter word imported from corporate world. How does the church tell its story to its community? What can the church learn from its media savvy competitors? How can we capture culture with our brand? Have you simplified and created the tools to help you trickle your identity into every interaction a person may have with your church? Learn the essentials and nuances that teams often overlook and what you can do to create communication and environments that connect with people’s hearts and minds.
3-Less Control. More Influence - Communication that fosters buy-in and teamwork -Kem Meyer
Do you ever notice your ideas are met with lackluster reactions from those around you? Are you having trouble leading change—even with the brightest people, best ideas and virtuous intentions? It’s been said knowing how people grow, does not mean we know how to grow them. It’s tricky learning how to work with others on the same team. And, even in “Kingdom work” we often meet defensiveness and experience defeat. The candid truth? Most of us are ineffective because we are pushing our own agenda—our way. Under pressure to demonstrate results or validate our cause, we have the tendency to skip crucial “soft skills” of our job. Discover a few ingredients for getting buy-in and motivating others we work with (staff, peers, supervisors and volunteers).
