The Journey of a Lifetime

Church planting is the journey of a lifetime. For many it is also one of the most challenging journeys. Some even question their calling along the way.

What does the journey look like and how do you prepare for the ride? Join an incredible lineup of pastors, authors, teachers, and field tested planters who will lead you on a quest to answer these and many more questions.

If you are considering planting or you've already decided to take the plunge, this track is for you. You will learn Biblical principles that will shape the way you think about church planting and how you shape this incredible journey into church planting. As leaders and influencers for the work of the coming harvest, it is crucial that we prepare well.

Session Descriptions:

Session 1 - The Destination: (Greg Hawkins)

Before we embark on any journey, it pays to consider our destination. Without a clear destination we become wanderers. As a church planter your vision, mission, values, and beliefs play a vital role in defining your destination. This session will include practical wisdom and insights into defining the destination for your new church. This will be done in the context of Greg sharing what they've learned from Reveal and how it applies to new churches.

Session 2 - The Community: (Dave Mills / Rick Rusaw)

The people living in the community of your destination will most certainly have a different set of felt needs than those in your community of origin. This session will share some new and innovative tools for understanding your community, what makes it tick, and the needs of its people.

Session 3 - The Roadmap: (Ed Stetzer)

You are called to plant. You've got a growing sense of clarity on your vision for the church and the people you want to reach. Now what? Many planters get stuck between vision and action. This session will cover the basic steps of creating a launch plan. No degrees in planning required. Come prepared for basic principles and practical suggestions for putting an actionable plan together.

Session 4  - The Journey - Creating a Come as You are Culture:  (John Burke)

John will share practical insights for creating a culture that facilitates connections with the disconnected and helping people take next steps.

Session 5 - The Team: (Darrin Patrick)

It's tough to lead a growing, dynamic church on your own. It takes a healthy team based approach to ministry. This session will cover the basic principles and strategies that guide the development and growth of a healthy launch team and the establishment of a team based DNA.

Session 6 - The Provisions: (Brad Leeper)

Most meaningful trips require money. Church planters know this better than anyone. With so much vision to implement, where does the money come from? This session will provide basic principles for fundraising and provide practical advice and steps for church planters.

Session 7 - The Family and Spiritual Warfare:  (Matt Chandler)

The impact of your new church starts with your family. A God honoring journey results in your family growing closer to Him and to one-another. Unfortunately, Satan often attacks through the family. This session will prepare the planter for the inevitable attacks to come and offer practical insights for maximizing the family's experience during the journey.
