Missional Church Track

sold out badge

We are sorry but this track is now sold out.

You desire to lead a church that is faithful to the values of being a blessing to its community and culture. You desire to produce disciple-making disciples and plant churches that result in redemptive movements that witness to the loving kindness of Jesus Christ.

This track will focus on developing leadership for churches that seek to plant missional churches that are movements more than single entities. It will present a challenge as well as encouragement and practical examples that will give you the understanding and confidence you need as you undertake the task of leading in a missional church.

Session Speakers:

  • Alan Hirsch
  • Ed Stetzer
  • Neil Cole

Session Descriptions:

Session 1 - Our Present Situation (Alan Hirsch)

The conditions facing the church in the 21st Century not only pose a threat to our existence but also present us with an unprecedented and extraordinary opportunity to rediscover ourselves in a way that orients us to this complex challenge in ways that are packed with the energy of Jesus' presence and transformative power.

Session 2 - Lord Jesus...It All Begins Here (Alan Hirsch)

By centering on the centrality and Lordship of Jesus you will be able to gain a vision that constantly draws its strength and influence from that well. Constantly recalibrating back to the center and circumference of this confession has always been the core of all significant Jesus movements.

Session 3 - The Missional Magnet (Alan Hirsch)

An organizing principle is that around which an organization structures its life and activities. Missional churches gather not around the idea of "church" and all the attendant activities of church. They gather around and "for" the purpose of being a blessing to the surrounding culture the Lord has placed them in. When we do this, the deepest form of community imaginable emerges. This session focuses
on how mission and vision can form dynamic faith communities.

Session 4 - Missional Manifestations (Ed Stetzer)

We have no lack of differing models in the church today. Attractional, seeker, emerging, house church; so many manifestations. Which one is best for a missional church? Or, can it be that any of these models can be missional. This session deals with the ways leaders are leading missional churches in all of these contexts.

Session 5 - Leading Apostolic Movements (Ed Stetzer)

Hopefully you are not interested in planting "a" church; you are passionate about planting a church that multiplies itself, planting other churches that all have church-planting DNA. This becomes a movement. This session draws on the wisdom and example of present day ministries that are doing this very thing; not for the purpose of mimicking them, but in order to understand the principles and values behind their vision.

Session 6 - Cultivating Kingdom Focused Lives (Neil Cole)

A church is the sum total of the individual lives gathered together. The transformative impact of that church is based on those individual lives. Making disciples is hard work. It takes commitment; not only on the part of the one being discipled but even more on the discipler. What does it look like, in real day-to-day terms, to really disciple someone? This session gets down to those basic practices.

Session 7 - Chaordic Leadership (Neil Cole)

Structures are needed, but they should be simple, reproducible, and internal rather than external. Life should dictate structure, not the other way around. The world operates through a top-down hierarchical structure, but Jesus said his Kingdom is not to be that way. This session focuses on missional leadership: what it looks like and how we structure systems in this way.
