Gathered AND Scattered
Gathered AND Scattered: Moving Beyond the Missional/Attractional Divide
When: Monday, April 19, 1-5 pm and Tuesday, April 20, 9-11 am
Leaders:
Hugh Halter, Missio Director
Matt Smay, Missio Director
Description
In recent years a growing schism has emerged between those calling themselves Incarnational leaders and those leading the prevailing church models. The divide in the church dialog is becoming tough to stomach: Missional OR Attractional; Incarnational OR Institutional; Organic OR Orchestrated.
But what if we were able to incorporate the insights of both models into a cohesive understanding of the church? After all, God is the one who builds the church, and in Acts we see Him turn a network of house churches into a mega church AND allow a centralized Hebrew church to be scattered all over the world.
This pre-conference intensive will inform any leader in any church of any form how to thrive in the tension of gathering AND sending.
Topics
- Kingdom DNA: incorporating communion, community, and mission into church of any form - from mega to micro.
- Consumer-less church.
- Morph: transitioning to missional.
- Stories and learnings from churches that have found the AND.
- Legacy: Churches that live like they were dying.
